Musical multi effects analysis
Masár, Igor ; Kubásek, Radek (referee) ; Friedl, Martin (advisor)
This work deals with guitar effect and guitar sound in general. Most widely used effects are described as well as their output time courses are simulated. There is a comparison of analog and digital effects. There is also explained the principal of guitar multiefects, described all parts of guitar efect chain and determined key parameters, which has the main impact on quality of final sound. It is used to describe a methodology for measuring multi-effects and the results obtained by this measurement. The last part deals with psychoacoustic measurements.
Blind Image Deconvolution in STEM mode of Electron Microscope
Measurement of gradient magnetic field decay in MR tomograph
Kubásek, Ondřej ; Kubásek, Radek (referee) ; Bartušek, Karel (advisor)
The objective of my thesis is to measure magnetic field gradient decay in an MR tomograph, process and evaluate the data measured and analyse the issue. The theoretical section focuses on the reasons for the gradient distortion which has a negative impact on NMR measuring techniques and it also describes options to eliminate the negative effects, focusing mainly on pre-emphasis filtration. It also lists methods of gradient magnetic field measuring. The practical section contains results of magnetic field decay measurements taken with the tomograph in the Institute of scientific instruments of the Academy of sciences in Brno using the method of instantaneous frequency with and without pre-emphasis compensation. The data are processed with MAREVISI and MATLAB programmes. MATLAB is used to develop a modern method of filtration to eliminate noise in useful signal leading to more accurate measurements of MR magnetic fields. This filtration uses a method of time-dependent variable thresholds and two-channel filter banks. MATLAB is also used to design a programme for approximation of the measured gradient magnetic field decay. The decay must be approximated in order to obtain time constants and the degree of exponential decay, which serve to set up the pre-emphasis compensation.
Implementation of Waveshaper Audio Effect
Leitgeb, David ; Miklánek, Štěpán (referee) ; Schimmel, Jiří (advisor)
The aim of this thesis is the implementation of a non-linear audio effect called waveshaper. This type of distortion effect contains the following building blocks: user defined transfer function, several types of filters and an oversampling processor with multiple stages of oversampling. The first prototype of this audio effect was implemented using Matlab and its Audio Toolbox extension. Due to certain limitations of this prototype, the whole audio effect was later completely rewritten in C++. This new implementation uses the JUCE framework which is mainly used for audio application development. The transition to this framework allowed real time editing of the transfer function and a VST3 build of the effect. In addition to a brief introduction of the used system types, motivation for oversampling and the description of the implementation for both prototypes, this thesis also includes graphical examples demonstrating their correct functionality. Audio files related to these examples are included in the electronic attachment.
ECG Signal Distortion Measures
Požár, Pavel ; Kozumplík, Jiří (referee) ; Vítek, Martin (advisor)
This master's thesis deals with electrocardiogram and its distortion, which causes errors, due to which a doctor can make a wrong diagnosis. In the theoretical part electrocardiogram is briefly described, further theory of wavelet transform, introduction to the signal compression and some information about ECG delineation. Methods used for the signal evaluation and therefore determination of the distortion size are described in the main theoretical part. This thesis contains known methods and also a method of own design based on the ECG delineation. Some of the described methods are checked in the practical part. These methods are tested for two different compression algorithms, which cause various distortion. In the final part distortion was tested on the influence on setting the wrong diagnosis.
Precise Audio Amplifier for Quality Listening
Janošík, Lukáš ; Šotner, Roman (referee) ; Kratochvíl, Tomáš (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with a design of quality audio preamplifier designed for high quality production. The typology of whole design emphasizes very important transmission properties, i.e. high signal-to-noise ratio, high separation of channel, low distortion, The content of the semestral thesis is an symetrical input, relay input switch, 5 band equalizer with bypass and symetrical output with active line driver.
Compensation of geometric distortion of electrophoretic gel image
Dvořáček, Tomáš ; Vítek, Martin (referee) ; Škutková, Helena (advisor)
This master thesis is engaged in problematics of creation and compensation of geometric distortions in 1D agarose electrophoresis. This master thesis analyze the problematics of cause of these distortions and summarize the theory needed for compensation of these distortions. Based on acquired theory and created electrophoretic phantoms, the master thesis contains several suggestions for compensation of incurred distortions. These suggestions are recreated into functions, which are connected into a functional user interface for gel image analysis and geometric distortions compensation.
Analog Guitar Multieffect Using Tube for Signal Distortion
Kufa, Michal ; Kincl,, Zdeněk (referee) ; Staněk, Miroslav (advisor)
Presented thesis is oriented on the short survey of guitar effects functionality and the design of chosen guitar effects set embedded into one device. The first effect is related to input signal distortion using a vacuum tube, in this case the couple of double-diode tubes. Next effect is noise gate filtering parasitic artefacts included in input signal lower than set threshold level. The last realized guitar effect is chorus. Each individual effect can be controlled by footswitch. The first two sections are focused on the theory of guitar signal processing, the third section solves the whole design of chosen device, the realization and the proof of designed device functionality are described in further sections.
Basic measurement of dynamic properties of bipolar and unipolar transistors
Lang, Radek ; Šotner, Roman (referee) ; Dřínovský, Jiří (advisor)
The aim of this bachelor’s thesis is to describe the dynamic parameters of semiconductor devices. The other aim is to build a measuring workplace, on which is possible to carry out measurement of dynamic properties of bipolar and unipolar transistors. The bachelors’s thesis also solves a design and a production of an universal product, on which measurements are carried out. Individual measurement is automated and individual devices are connected to the product and results are controlled by computer analysis.
Design and construction of guitar multi-effects
Šindelář, Jindřich ; Kratochvíl, Tomáš (referee) ; Petržela, Jiří (advisor)
This thesis focuses on design of electronic circuit which combines several effects for electric guitar. These effects are switchable to achieve relatively wide range of sounds usable in different music genres. Each chapter of this text describes function and design process of single subcircuit. In the summary of this text are written up sound characters of effect in particular modes. Attachments contains the results of design needed to build a functional prototype of the whole circuit.
